Severely neglected after living on the streets for a long time, tangled and dirty hair. We managed to trap her and bring her to the vet. The vet was overcrowded, so Polar had to stay overnight and undergo the sterilization the next morning. She received a much-needed wash and trim immediately.
After reaching out to a few people to foster or adopt her, unfortunately, no one came forward. With our home already full of fosters and our upcoming trip back to the Netherlands, we sadly had to return her to the streets. However, after posting before and after photos on Facebook, messages started pouring in offering to foster her.
I rushed to the car, drove an hour, and attempted to catch her. For all animals that I save, I give a beer name because of my deceased cat Duvel 💫 So the name Polar for this white cutie. I was calling out her name. A man came up to me and asked if I was looking for a little white dog. I said yes. He said it was laying death around the corner. Damn, it can't be true, can it?!
As sad as it was for this doggy, luckily it was not Polar. Very relieved when I saw her walking! I tried to catch him for an hour but had to return home for dinner with friends. Very sad and unable to sleep. I woke up very early to make another attempt to catch Polar. Sitting in the car full of adrenaline, I hoped to find her alive. And there she was! After 1.5 hours, I finally caught her.
I took her to Stefy’s Petsitting where she stayed for a little while. The good news is that she got adopted and lives with a loving family where she gets to spend the rest of her life!
